Teams from all WFDF National Federation (NF) members are invited to participate at WU24 in Logroño, Spain. Only WFDF member NFs in good standing will be entitled to participate. The deadline for new team sign-ups will be announced by WFDF.
WU24 will be played according to the latest rules, the WFDF Rules of Ultimate 2025–2028, used at WFDF Ultimate Events (2025–2028 Rules with highlighted changes).
WU24 follows the team eligibility rules for rosters (Section D), with a minimum of six teams per division. Who can play (WFDF Rules of Ultimate 2025–2028, Appendix D4):
- Under-24 Mixed (U24X) – any player eligible for the Open Division can play as a male matching player. Any player eligible for the Women’s Division can play as a female matching player.
- Under-24 Open (U24O) – all players are eligible to participate in the Open Divisions of all competitions.
- Under-24 Women’s (U24W) – all female matching players are eligible to participate in the Women’s Divisions of all competitions.
Age (Appendix D5.6): a player participating in the Under-24 divisions must be fourteen (14) years old or older and must not be twenty-four (24) years old or older during the calendar year in which the tournament concludes. For 2027, anyone born between 1st January 2004 and 31st December 2013 is eligible.
See the full WFDF Eligibility and Roster Guidelines (Appendix D) for roster and citizenship requirements.
Transgender athletes: the eligibility of transgender athletes is governed by the WFDF Transgender and DSD Athlete Policy. WFDF strives to protect transgender athletes and to recognise the importance of autonomy of gender identity in sport, and has created clear guidelines with minimally invasive requirements for TUE submissions. The guidelines were developed by the Medical and Anti-Doping Committee, and WU24 will abide by the timelines and requirements outlined in the policy. Please note that there are different timelines for transgender athletes under age 24 than for transgender athletes age 24 or older: please read through the policy with your athletes when assessing eligibility.
For WFDF’s latest position, please see WFDF: IOC introduces new transgender policy – WFDF policy not to be changed.
