FOOD IN LOGROÑO

Logroño is one of Spain’s great food cities. In the old town, Calle Laurel and Calle San Juan are lined with tapas bars, each with its own speciality pincho, from grilled mushrooms to patatas bravas, best enjoyed with a glass of Rioja wine. Hopping from bar to bar in the evening is a local tradition, and one every visitor should try at least once.

That said, most of these places are small, and the city will be packed during the high season. For this reason, we recommend that teams adhere to the meal plan.

  • Breakfast – teams arrange their own; we recommend accommodation with breakfast included. Breakfast will also be available for purchase from the vendors at the fields.
  • Lunch – food and drink concessions at the venue, including vegetarian and vegan options, available for purchase.
  • Dinner – the city offers a huge variety of restaurants and places to eat at reasonable prices.

TEAMS’ MEAL PLAN

We are developing a high-quality meal plan for all teams taking part in WU24, designed to give athletes nutritious, balanced and abundant food every day of the event. Menus will include vegetarian and vegan options and, if notified in advance, we will also be able to accommodate individual allergies and food restrictions. Teams will be able to choose their meal times each day, to match their game schedules.

The meal plan is optional but highly recommended: the city will be very busy throughout the championship week, and finding places that can seat large groups at specific times can be difficult.

All the meal plan information will be sent to the teams once team registration opens.
